I remember when I bought my first Polypro hoop, way back when. There weren’t very many places to get one in Canada, and it was confusing to dig through all the information on the internet to figure out what size I needed. I ended up choosing a 36”, which was too big.

Since then, I’ve spent many years teaching and sizing thousands of students. I’ve seen clear patterns of success. What I’ve learned is that most people can’t go wrong starting with a 28–32” Polypro made from 3/4” tubing when learning off-body hoop dance movements.

This sizing range works well across a wide variety of body shapes and sizes. People who are very small or very large often do best by adjusting just outside of this range, rather than jumping to extremes.

I created this sizing guide to remove the guesswork and help you start with confidence.

I am so excited for you to choose your first Polypro and get started with this classic flow prop. Just remember, hooping is for EVERY body. You can flow, and you can dance, and you will amaze yourself with what your body can do.
